  • Controlled demolition of the unsafe structure.
  • Installation of Heras fencing complete with safety and warning signs and site security.
  • Soft strip undamaged office structures.
  • Demolition of all remaining structures.
  • The removal of all redundant waste arising from the site to appropriate facilities including the provision of all necessary waste transfer certificates.

Project Description

Working with the emergency services, AR's brief was to deliver the expert skills and tools to aid the emergency services to carry out demolition activities on the fire engulfed warehouse. Under emergency conditions, AR and the fire service brought the site to a safe state. The fire was the result of an arson attack and as such, it was recognised from the early offset that the project was required to be undertaken with due regard to the sensitivity of the client, emergency services and the loss adjusters.

Key Challenges

With nature and risks associated with the scale of operations, environmental emissions and all normal aspects of demolition projects (such as waste movements, dust & vibration) were going to need robust control measures in place.

Key Health and Safety Risks

  • Access to the Site
  • The Dust, Noise, and Vibration from the demolition process.
  • Fire/explosion, including gas canisters
  • Hot Works

Working in challenging and fragile conditions and on a partially alight site, we safely completed the project, alongside the emergency services making safe all the key areas of concern to the complete satisfaction of the client. Following the emergency response works, AR Demolition went on to demolish the remaining structures and clear the site of all demolition waste arisings.
