Following approval from Kettering Borough Council's planning committee in April 2011 to develop the former site of Tresham College, successful building contractor William Davis, called on the services of AR Demolition to remove the four storey student campus together with surrounding buildings. |

After a detailed asbestos survey and careful asbestos removal by AR Demolition, the main demolition work commenced including the demolishing of the building, sorting of materials and the break out of all floors, hard standings and foundations prior to on site crushing and final site clearance. |

The main building, a derelict eyesore subject to acts of vandalism since 2007, was taken down systematically and safely with the Company’s 50 tonne high reach machine utilising a concrete pulveriser and grab attachments. A pair of smaller 25 tonne tracked demolition rigs completed the removal of the lower levels of the hollow shell. |

Once the site has been completely cleared, 48 private and 59 retirement homes will be built.
